Snow Ready

As you are likely aware, we are expecting a significant snow event from Sunday into Monday morning. Residents are strongly encouraged to avoid travel on Sunday whenever possible. With proper planning, leaving your home should not be necessary.

The Township Public Works crews will be out during the storm. Full plowing and cleanup operations will begin after the snowfall is complete. Crews will likely spend most of Monday clearing roads and pushing snow off travel lanes. This process will result in snow being pushed into driveways and onto sidewalks. Please understand that it takes multiple, non-consecutive passes to fully clear a roadway, and there will be time gaps between those passes.

We have received complaints from residents regarding snow being pushed back into driveways after shoveling. Unfortunately, this is unavoidable if snow is removed too early. Any confrontation with a plow operator will result in the police being dispatched to the location.

Residents have two options:

· Be prepared to move snow multiple times, or

· Wait until later on Monday to begin snow removal.

If you must shovel early, please place snow to the right side of your driveway (when facing the road), if possible.

The Township will be issuing a Snow Emergency, and all vehicles must be removed from roadways to allow crews to safely and efficiently perform snow removal operations.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work to keep the Township safe during this storm. If you need assistance shoveling your property please talk with your neighbors to find someone to assist you.
