The Hanover Township Public Works Department collected approximately 1,100 tons of Leaves and 670 tons of Yard Waste in 2011!
Hanover Township provides the following residential solid waste services:Trash, recycling and yard waste collection.
The Township has a Single Hauler Ordinance No. 08-05 whereby the Township contracts with one private hauler to provide waste and recycling service. Raritan Valley is the Township's designated waste hauler. All new residents must contract with Raritan Valley Services are billed in January for the current calendar year.

The Township Municipal Tract, Crawford Park and Pharo Park are sporting some new Recycling containers!
In September 2011 the Township applied for a Greenways Mini-Grant with “Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful” and was awarded a $500.00 grant. The total cost for the containers was $1,151.43 with the Township paying the difference of $651.43.
In efforts to extend the Township Recycling; we ask that while you visit these parks, take notice to the containers and partner with the Township to increase recycling and to keep are parks clean and litter free!
This project was funded in part by a grant provided by Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful and the Community Conservation Partnership Program, Environmental Stewardship Fund, under the administration of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Recreation and Conservation.

The Township upon agreement with the City of Bethlehem has secured the use of the Bethlehem Compost Center at Schoenersville Road and Eaton Avenue, for Township residents on a permit basis. Any resident, who wishes to use the facility, must first secure a permit at a cost of $15.00 per year from the Township office. Permits must be secured before use.
Burning
Burning is not allowed in the Township by Township Ordinance and by Pennsylvania DEP order.
